Frequently Asked Questions
I am pregnant, which products should I use?
Skin Problems
- Using the basic skin care preparations (Cleansing Cream, Facial Toner, Moisturising Day Cream, Rose Cream, Rhythmic Night Conditioner or the Rhythmic Conditioner Sensitive ampoules) can alleviate some of the skin problems (breakouts, dry or greasy skin) that may occur during pregnancy.
- Rhythmic Night Conditioner ampoules have been found to help chloasma (pigmentation on the face usually caused by changes in the hormone balance).
Swollen ankles, tired legs
- Rosemary Leg and Arm Toner is cooling and enlivening, just stroke onto the legs in an upwards direction.
- Lemon Bath can be used in the main bath or as a regular footbath.
- Twitchy legs in bed at night can be eased with a Lavender Bath (after the 4th month).
Stretch Marks
- Stretch marks are best prevented rather than treated, however, daily application of Rejuvenating Mask can be helpful after the birth.
- Using Quince Body Moisturiser on its own or mixed with Blackthorn Body Oil during pregnancy can prevent stretch marks - the products are high in silica which gives the skin strength and elasticity.
Tiredness
- Herbal Delight taken on a regular basis have both been found to be helpful.
- Contact Weleda UK for 'Copper Ointment from Wala'. This cream applied sparingly to the perineum in the last month of pregnancy can help to prevent tearing.
