Why do some of the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products contain alcohol?
Herbs and flowers are the core of Dr.Hauschka Skin Care preparations and alcohol is used to extract plant materials. The alcohol used is of the highest food quality standard -primarily derived from fruits, potatoes and occasionally grain. The percentage of alcohol used the Dr.Hauschka preparations does not approach a concentration that would be considered harmful in any way; it is not drying to the skin. Alcohol carries active plant extracts into the skin. A natural emulsifier and stabilizer, alcohol acts as a preservative.
