Frequently Asked Questions
I have eczema, which products should I use?
Eczema is a skin condition that begins as a red, itching area. This original area can either become dry eczema which increases in size, becoming dry, scaly, and cracked. The skin can also become wet eczema where the irritated skin becomes open and weeping.
Eczema is a skin tissue reaction. This can be caused by an external source - where by the skin experiences an allergy to a substance around the person, or put on the skin. Eczema can also be triggered by an internal stimulus, which can be a genetic disposition, or a reaction to stress, or diet.
Eczema is an individual experience, even within families. When triggered by an external substance, through diet and nutritional help, and through avoiding the substance, the skin will recover quickly. When the cause of the eczema is internal it becomes seemingly more difficult to treat.
When the skin is internally disposed to eczema, the emphasis needs to look towards prevention rather than cure. We rarely can eliminate the stress factor in our lives, but we must work to balance this out, and while we balance, the eczema has the ability to re-occur, but if we work to strengthen the skin, re-occurrence can be less debilitating.
Strengthening the skin is essential to allow it to cope better with an attack, and to help with faster healing after an attack. Regular product use and treatments with a Dr.Hauschka Esthetician will not only help you withstand the stress life puts upon you, but will also help your skin to support itself under stress.
