If I am allergic to peanuts, should I be concerned about the peanut oil used as an ingredient in Dr.Hauschka Skin Care products?
Peanut oil is used as a neutral carrier for the healing extracts contained in some Dr. Hauschka Skin Care preparations. Allergic reactions to peanuts and other legumes are caused by the proteins and amino acids contained within the seeds. Fortunately, these substances are not soluble in oil and are separated out during the extraction process. The peanut oil used in our products is treated with steam and filtered, completely removing all traces of protein and amino acids. The likelihood, therefore, of an allergic reaction to the peanut oil used in Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products is extremely low.
